Le social bookmarking, c'est bon pour tout le monde ! C'est, en substance, ce que nous dit M. Drechsler, dans la deuxième partie de l'entrevue, consacrée à la place des savoirs informels dans la formation tout au long de la vie.

Lifelong learning is becoming an economic imperative

Technological change demands stronger and more continuous connections between education and employment, says Andrew Palmer. The faint outlines of such a system are now emerging.

Techniques for Unleashing Student Work from Learning Management Systems | Life Long LEARNing

Techniques for Unleashing Student Work from Learning Management Systems | Life Long LEARNing | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it
In my mind, this is exactly what the future of lifelong learning looks like. We will be learning constantly throughout our careers as workers and citizens, and once young people graduate from formal institutions, much of that learning will be self-directed and unstructured. What I hope that students could take away from my Connected Course were the skill sets to participate in that kind of learning out on the open Web, and the belief that lifelong learning can be most powerful when we intentionally build networks of people to learn with us.

On the first day of my course, I tell students that they have three responsibilities: to advance their own learning, to advance the learning of their classmates and to advance the learning of their wider communities. If they are successful as students, they’ll benefit not only themselves, but their classmates and colleagues beyond.

Since this is a goal for myself and my children---why wouldn't I have this goal as a #digileader for my fellow teachers and students? I see myself as the instructor for this "course" within the walls of my own school and beyond. Success lies w/carefully planned implementation #greatlisd

Why new technologies could never replace great teaching

Why new technologies could never replace great teaching | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it
Technology in education gets plenty of hype, but let's not forget the importance of teaching and learning, says Pamela Wright

So where do I stand as an educator, as a leader in education? The centre point of my passion is a philosophy that I instil into my staff, into the school and into every school I support. It is the child – first and foremost.

Teachers don't simply teach concepts and skills. Any new technology can do that.

Good teachers inspire our young people to be lifelong learners, creating a culture of independent enquiry with their enthusiasm and passion. I know this because I see it every day. Good teachers have the skills to know exactly how to get the best out of each and every young person in their care.

My Modern Knowledge as I am retired... I recently met some young female teachers, educators in a Restaurant and as I am a very social person I started in to a discussion: I love to talk to find out what persons are around me and IF from EDUcation, guess, I can't STOP to…

4 Secrets to Learning Anything, According to Neuroscience

4 Secrets to Learning Anything, According to Neuroscience | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it
The future of work is all about innovation and agility. We have to be prepared for ever-changing circumstances, and that means being open to learning new things.

Learning is no longer something we just do in schools. We can't rely on just the skillset we knew when we entered the workforce--that will guarantee career stagnation.

NLI has recently been exploring how to make ideas stick. Through their research, they created a model outlining four key conditions for effective learning: Attention, Generation, Emotion and Spacing (AGES).

Here's a quick overview of the AGES model:

Attention: When you learn, maintain a single focus having complete and undivided attention.

Generation: Listening isn't enough. Heighten the likelihood of memory retention by doing something with the information you're learning. Create a situation that will make this information meaningful.

Emotion: Strong emotions lead to strong memories. Look for ways to build an emotional connection to what you're learning.

Spacing: In order to grow memory, you need a break in between learning.
